Abstract

This paper explores the architectural trends in corporate server virtualization by comparing hypervisor-based and container-based approaches. Hypervisor solutions, such as VMware and Hyper-V, provide robust isolation and management, while container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes offer lightweight alternatives for greater flexibility and efficiency. Through an in-depth analysis of performance, scalability, security, and management considerations, this study examines the strengths and limitations of each approach in corporate environments. By assessing real-world case studies and emerging trends, the paper provides insights for IT decision-makers to choose the most suitable virtualization strategy for their infrastructure needs, while also discussing the future convergence of these technologies in hybrid solutions.
