Abstract

This article examines teaching English to philology students using social networks, based on constructivist and connectivist theories. It emphasizes media literacy for effective online communication and discusses how social networks foster foreign language professional competence. A study on Facebook interactions among English philology undergraduates reveals benefits like language learning and community-building, alongside challenges like digital literacy issues. This research highlights the potential of social networks for language education, urging educators to address digital literacy for optimized learning outcomes.
